About Faculties in the UK and Republic of Ireland
Faculties are a unique infrastructure that supports members wherever they are.
There are 31 individual faculties representing local areas across the UK, an additional Faculty representing the Republic of Ireland and another for international and overseas members, plus the Rural Forum which is a collaboration representing rural issues.
We aim for this network to be:
A modern, inclusive, and collaborative faculty network that empowers local GP members. By nurturing grassroots member engagement, we create a welcoming and dynamic environment where every voice is valued.
Our members are automatically allocated to one of the 31 faculties on joining the College depending on where they live or work.
Each faculty is represented by a Faculty Board, made up of a number of dedicated members who work voluntarily towards the College's vision, purpose and priority goals. Faculties enable members to celebrate and connect with local GPs, influence the work of the College and local networks on behalf of members, and embed a sense of belonging within their professional community.
