From guidance to practice: managing paediatric RTIs through clinical scenarios

Respiratory tract infections (RTIs) are the leading reason for primary care consultations among children under five in the UK. Despite clinical guidelines advising against routine antibiotic use for most common childhood RTIs, these infections account for over 70% of antibiotic prescriptions in this age group. This webinar follows on from the first paediatric RTI webinar (link) and will explore clinical scenarios including acute otitis media, sore throat and cough, summarising NICE prescribing guidance and best practice recommendations for managing paediatric RTIs in primary care. It will also address patient perceptions of antibiotic prescribing, including their views on back-up/ delayed prescriptions, and offer practical tips to support consultations, particularly with concerned parents.

GP Registrar Insights - Common training pitfalls and troubleshooting tips

Welcome to our peer-led educational programme for all GP registrars! We aim to create an informal space for registrars to come together once a month and share their questions, thoughts and worries about various topics related to GP training.
