Palliative & End-of-Life Care Study Day

The Palliative & End‑of‑Life Care Study Day is a full‑day interactive event for GPs and GPST3s focusing on building confidence and competence in everyday palliative care. Led by a multidisciplinary team, it blends focused teaching, real‑world case discussions, and practical workshops covering symptom management, anticipatory prescribing, DNACPR, advance care planning, and legal responsibilities. Participants gain practical skills, insight into community and hospice pathways, and tools to deliver compassionate, patient‑centred end‑of‑life care.

This one-day course is open to trainees, General Practitioners and Practice Nurses in Scotland working with musculoskeletal patients. The training will support improvement in assessment, diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal conditions, and includes training on practical use of corticosteroid joint and tissue injections.

Cumbria Faculty board - June 2026

Our Faculty Board meets quarterly (February, June, September, and November), primarily online. It comprises GP volunteers, lay representatives, and members from groups like First5 and GP registrars. Volunteers bring insights, share local updates, and shape general practice via feeding in to National Council Meetings. We encourage local GPs to join the Mersey Faculty and contribute actively.
