Educational and professional development resources

  • Personalised Care Institute - Accredited for working with children, young people and families.
  • Center on the Developing Child, Harvard University - This site contains lots of information on child development and how to combat the effects of adversity.
  • The ATTUNE Project is made up of a varied group of academics, creative practitioners, and healthcare professionals from all over the UK working together to help support the mental health and wellbeing of young people. They are working with organisations and young people to co-produce a resource to help organisations work in more trauma-informed ways. The project is scheduled to complete in August 2025, when more resources will be available online.
  • The UK Trauma Council produces evidence-based resources to improve professionals’ and carers’ understanding of the nature and impact of trauma.
  • The Royal College of Psychiatrists website hosts documents and resources for the psychiatry specialist training scheme, including child and adolescent psychiatry. Although the curriculum isn’t designed for GPs with an extended role, and it should not be used in this way, the content may be helpful for GPwERs in identifying learning needs and opportunities for further professional development.
  • Rock Pool is a community interest company who work with the NHS – amongst other organisations – to train front-line staff in delivering trauma-informed care.
