A message from the RCGP President

This hub has been created to showcase the many ways GPs can get involved in research - whether that’s developing an academic career, or supporting studies within your own practice

The Research Engagement Hub offers GPs and aspiring GPs the opportunity to learn about routes into academic general practice and research study delivery. You’ll find case studies sharing the experiences of those at different stages of their careers and research journeys. Resources relevant for GPs across the UK have been included.

The academic general practice section of the engagement hub was developed in collaboration with the National Institute for Health Research School for Primary Care Research (NIHR - SPCR), to celebrate and showcase academic general practice as an exciting and varied career path.

The clinical research delivery section of the engagement hub was developed in collaboration with NHSE following the RCGPs launch of the GPs with extended roles in research delivery framework, and showcases the benefits of supporting clinical research studies within a general practice.

We hope this hub helps you to explore your own paths into primary care research, and in doing so, joining an enthusiastic community of research interested GPs.
