RCGP statement on Air India crash
Publication date: 13 June 2025
Professor Kamila Hawthorne, Chair of the Royal College of GPs, said: "On behalf of the RCGP, I extend our deepest condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones of the victims of yesterday’s tragic Air India crash. Many of our members are from the Gujarat region of India, and around, and will likely be incredibly concerned about the devastating events, and we know that amongst the victims were some from the medical community, and buildings of a medical school were hit when the plane crashed. To those affected in the UK and around the world – and those, including medics, who are part of the emergency response - our thoughts are with you during this unimaginable time of grief."
