Edinburgh | RCGP Scotland Certificate in the Management of Problem Drug Use Part One

This one-day, in-person course focuses on a holistic approach to helping people who use drugs in Scotland. Designed for people working at a generalist level in Scotland, this course can be completed in isolation or used as an introduction to Part Two. Participants will gain knowledge of practical harm reduction, drug death prevention, medication assisted treatment (e.g. methadone, buprenorphine), support for families and recovery journeys.

Dundee | Meet your local Faculty Board

Did you know that RCGP is made up of a network of faculties, a unique infrastructure that supports members wherever you are? For members based in Angus, Dundee, North Fife and Perth & Kinross, you're part of the East Scotland Faculty. Members of all career stages are invited to this informal networking event at the DCA to meet your local representatives, understand the role of the Faculty Board and connect with peers from across the area. Food and networking from 18:00-19:15, followed immediately by the quarterly Board Meeting at 19:30, those interested can stay on to observe.

Orkney | Learn and Connect

Join the RCGP North East Scotland Faculty for a full-day Learn and Connect event at The Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall, Orkney, on Saturday 5 September 2026. The day will include RCGP and Faculty updates, educational sessions, lunch and networking, and sessions with secondary care specialists, including Dr Shelagh Parkinson, Consultant Paediatrician. The event is part of the Faculty’s work to strengthen links with members and GP colleagues across the North East Scotland Faculty area, including remote and rural communities.
