An introduction to speaking publicly or via the media for GPs

Giving you the power to say what you want to say and to say it well. This is the world of the soundbite, the app, the tweet, the word cloud. It’s a world of 24-hour rolling news... of vox pops, webcasts and video clips. In business today, you are expected to be able to communicate quickly and simply: » to hit the right note » to come across well » to create memory. Whether it’s talking via broadcast or narrowcast TV, on radio, to the press, or presenting to an audience – live or virtual – the right preparation gives you the power to say what you want to say and to say it well.

Managing paediatric respiratory tract infections– what is the evidence?

Primary care antibiotic prescribing in children aged 0-9 years has increased in recent years compared to the pre-COVID-19 pandemic, with 5.3 million prescriptions for children aged 0 – 14 years in 2022. Much of this prescribing will be driven by consultations for respiratory tract infections and the aim of this webinar is to support clinicians to manage consultations for RTIs in children and young people and consider appropriate strategies for clinical management. This is the first of two webinars on paediatric prescribing in primary care, with the second session focusing on applying guidance to scenarios in general practice.
