Cumbria Faculty board - June 2026

Our Faculty Board meets quarterly (February, June, September, and November), primarily online. It comprises GP volunteers, lay representatives, and members from groups like First5 and GP registrars. Volunteers bring insights, share local updates, and shape general practice via feeding in to National Council Meetings. We encourage local GPs to join the Mersey Faculty and contribute actively.

RCGP Scotland | Minor Surgery

This two-day course is open to trainees, General Practitioners and Practice Nurses and will enable attendees to develop the skills required to run a successful minor surgery service in primary care. Topics covered include; minor skin procedures and non-surgical techniques, as well as advice about how to set up a service and the medico-legal and contractual obligations required of those practicing minor surgery.

The RCGP 3-day SCA preparation course

This open-to-all training course aims to improve your consultation skills and as a result pass your SCA. The course offers interactive sessions with experienced trainers and examiners, a highlight being Prof. Roger Neighbour, a renowned teacher on the skills of communication within the GP consultation.

Learn and Connect: CPR Update, Liverpool, 9.30am

You are invited to join our CPR Update/Refresher course taking place in Liverpool. A Learn and Connect event that will provide you with an update on basic life support, including a certificate for both adult and children, in accordance with updated UK resuscitation guidelines 2025, while also offering the opportunity to meet other local GPs. Free/refundable for RCGP members. £30 non members. Practice staff welcome. Other venues and dates available to book.
