Founded in 1952, and incorporated by Royal Charter in 1972, the Royal College of General Practitioners is the professional membership body for GPs.
We are the professional membership body for GPs in the UK with more than 54,000 members worldwide. Our purpose is to encourage, foster and maintain the highest possible standards in general medical practice to improve the care we give our patients.
We support GPs through all stages of their career, from medical students considering general practice, through to training, qualified years and retirement.
