The Care Interface Design (CINDe) Tool

NHS Lanarkshire is evaluating the use of a Human Factors based tool in collaboration with Public Services Delivery (PSD) Scotland.

The Care Interface Design Tool (CINDe) is designed to be used at the beginning of the Pathway Development Process and supports a facilitated, structured discussion to explore the assumptions made by the various stakeholders in the development group.

It supports the identification and agreement of a clear aim and can help to identify barriers and challenges at the interface at an early stage in pathway development.

This supports the development of a pathway which addresses those challenges and assumptions from the outset and encourages better understanding of other teams and systems within the organisation. This offers important insights for building more informed relationships and jointly creating the conditions that make the design of care pathways more efficient, easier and safer.

The CINDe tool can be accessed on the Turas website. For more information on this case study, please contact scotland.interface@rcgp.org.uk
