COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Updates

We would like to thank all GPs and practice staff for their hard work on the frontline during this difficult time. As a College, we are continually updating our resources and guidance for members on the COVID-19 pandemic. For more information, please visit our dedicated COVID-19 web page.

RCGP members can also email our dedicated COVID-19 inbox with feedback and questions regarding Coronavirus. This will allow us to provide feedback to the relevant authorities and help us populate our COVID-19 FAQs. Email: Covid19@rcgp.org.uk.

Welcome from East Scotland Faculty

A warm welcome from East Scotland Faculty. We are a group of volunteer RCGP members who provide local networking, education and support for members in the area. We cover Dundee; Angus; Perthshire and North Fife, supporting over 500 RCGP members and their peers. As a Faculty, we have a particular interest in supporting our members’ CPD and professional development and provide a range of education courses, tailored to local needs from AiTs through to retired members.

Get involved

We meet four times per year, in February, June, September and November to progress our local engagement activities and discuss issues pertinent to our members, which are then fed back to the College Council. All local members are very welcome to attend Board meetings and participate in these discussions – we are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us develop our local engagement programme.

Our June 2020 meeting was cancelled but the Board met virtually in September and November 2020.

The 2020 AGM has been postponed and will take place virtually in February 2021, date TBC.

Upcoming events

We run many education courses and social/networking events throughout the year. Many of these contribute to CPD and professional development.

Annual Lecture

The John Lawson Lecture is held annually and highlights a current topic or interest. The 2019 lecture took place on Thursday 20 June 2019 in the Hilton Dundee with Professor Lesley Colvin speaking to around 40 local members on Management of Chronic Pain.

Annual General Meeting

We combine our AGM with our Annual dinner into a social event to encourage members to get together. The 2019 AGM and Annual Dinner took place on Tuesday 24 September 2019 and was a very enjoyable evening.  All members are invited each year to this event and very welcome to come along and catch up with friends and colleagues.  At our AGM, we like to recognise those who have recently qualified as GPs locally and also, the Fellowship Committee choose around 2 or 3 local GPs who have provided a consistent service to patients locally for many years to be recognised with our Achievement Award.
