Health and Work in General Practice

The RCGP Health and Work programme is designed to help GPs manage work and health issues in their patient population.

The purpose of the workshops is to:

  • increase the knowledge, skills and confidence of GPs in dealing with clinical issues relating to work and health
  • signpost additional means of support which will enable GPs and their teams to be confident that they are providing the best possible care for patients
  • give up to date and expert advice about using the electronic fit note.

The training is run by experts in the field of health and work who have been involved in the development of the new fit note guidance, so your queries and concerns about the use of the fit note should be answered. This is a fast-paced, interactive half day workshop that has proved for many to influence their practice.

Women's Cancer Event

This RCGP South East Wales Faculty study afternoon hopes to refresh your knowledge on women's cancers. These are often difficult to diagnose and can be missed so Doctors should always be cautious about having a high index of suspicion. We are inviting local consultants to speak about these topics as well as a patient talking about their experience.

CBT focusses on the here and now instead of symptoms of the past. CBT is applicable to a range of mental health disorders such as depression anxiety panic disorder phobias and bulimia and can also be applied to primary care problems such as pain management.

City Health Conference 2019 – Health and ‘appiness, technology in primary care

The City Health Conference is the most important London-wide primary care event that Local RCGP Faculties get to host. This year we are expecting approximately 300 primary care professionals to attend including GPs and GP trainees, practice managers, nurses, pharmacists, allied health care professionals, researchers, secondary care consultants, public health professionals, health policy experts and commissioners. The conference will be focusing on Technology.
