Minor Surgery Update/ Refresher

Essex Men's Health

This day is to develop effective strategies for diagnosing and managing men's health conditions. The meeting has been developed by GPs for GPs who wish to know more about men's health. Focus will be on the importance of prevention and early diagnosis of men's health conditions including sexual, prostatic, mental health, testosterone deficiency and metabolic syndrome. All participants will receive a complimentary copy of the new evidence based UK Men's Health Guidelines for GPs. The Facilitators of the case based discussions will be members of the Primary care Testosterone Advisory Group (PCTAG) The Primary Care Testosterone Advisory Group is made of doctors passionate about men's health. In particular we recognise the under diagnosis and impact of low testosterone on the body and mind. Dermoscopy for Absolute Beginners - PCDS and Spotlight RCGP event

This one day course aims to introduce GPs to the RCGP toolkit on dermatology and introduce them to dermoscopy. It is aimed at those who have access to a dermatoscope but have not felt confident to use it as much as they would like, and would like to know how to diagnose some commonly seen lesions. Please bring your dermatoscope along with you if you have one, as there is a practical session where you will have a chance to practice using it on your colleagues. This is a basic level course, including practical tips on how to look after your scope, keep it clean and how to take good pictures through it. It is very interactive and we aim to get you confident diagnosing the common benign lesions and obvious malignancies.
