Respiratory conditions account for a significant proportion of workload across primary, urgent, and unscheduled care, and this SIG provides a supportive space for members to connect, collaborate, stay uptodate and contribute to improving respiratory care for patients and communities.
Our aim
The aim of the respiratory health SIG is to bring together members with a shared interest in respiratory health to collaborate, share best practice, and support high-quality, evidence-based care. The group will explore emerging challenges and innovations in respiratory medicine, with focus on health equity, integrated working, and the practical application of national guidance in everyday general practice.
Current work
The group is newly established and is currently developing its initial workplan, which will be shaped by member interests and aligned with RCGP priorities. Planned areas of focus include education and professional development, urgent and unscheduled care, system-wide collaboration, and joint working with other RCGP Special Interest Groups. Members are warmly encouraged to get involved and help shape the direction and activities of the group.
