Urgent update on COVID vaccine arrangements

I’m taking the unusual step of writing to you on New Year’s Day following NHS England’s instruction to cancel second Pfizer doses from Monday in order to retain stocks to give first doses to a larger number of people.

New COVID variant and general practice

I wish you all as Whitty a Christmas as possible from all of us at the RCGP

General practice has acted thoughtfully and swiftly. We have radically changed our model of providing care in order to keep patients safe, prioritised our most vulnerable patients, managed an unprecedented level of ill-health and distress, and are now delivering not one but two large scale immunisation programmes.

Farewell and 'thank you' from Carey

In her final Chair’s blog, Dr Carey Lunan looks back on her time as Chair of RCGP Scotland and reflects on the challenges and opportunities for general practice and the work of the College over the past three years.

A bright light in a dark year

Dr Mair Hopkin and Prof. Peter Saul, Joint Chairs of RCGP Wales, seek perspective as they look back at the heroic efforts of our profession during 2020.

Updated guidance and clarifications for the RCA

From September 2020 additional guidance was issued on the RCA website and circulated to you all. Feedback from candidates at the November sitting has helped us to further develop this guidance to the mandatory requirements, says Dr Michael Mulholland, RCGP Vice Chair for Professional Development.
