Management of Pain in Palliative and End of Life Care

Pain is one of the most feared symptoms in incurable cancer and is commonly experienced by patients with both malignant and non-malignant disease as the end of life approaches. This interactive session will address concerns that patients and family members frequently have concerning the use of opioids: addiction, tolerance, side-effects, stigma and shortening of life. It will outline an approach to the management of pain that can be transferred beyond Palliative and End of Life Care.
