College Awards

The College has a wide range of awards both on application and by nomination. These are administered by the Awards Committee, chaired by the President.  All are intended to give recognition, encouragement and to empower people in the different ways they work.

The College is most grateful to those organisations and RCGP members who have made generous donations to make these awards possible. You can view the full list of College Awards.

There are over 20 awards of various types: academic, i.e. eponymous, lectures; medals or a silver gavel; and monetary prizes. These can be for those at the very beginning of a career in general practice, such as registrars, for those who have spent a lifetime in practice and also for those outside medicine.

  • Most of the awards are presented at the two general meetings of the College: The Annual General Meeting of the College is held in November and the Spring General Meeting held in April/May

The College is always keen to promote its awards. If you are organising a conference or have any suggestions please contact the Awards Administrator Awards Committee.

Nominations for awards or general enquiries should be addressed to the President, as Chairman of the Awards Committee.
