New Members' Ceremonies
Members joining the College will
be invited to attend a membership ceremony. These
are being held throughout the year and enable new members
to celebrate the achievement of attaining membership of the college
by completing the nMRCGP or IMAP and to be presented with their
membership certificate.
The format of these events follows a pilot we
ran in November 2005 in Scotland, in response to feedback from our
members that they would like an opportunity to meet one another and
to have their achievement of joining the College formally
recognised. The events were rolled out across the UK in spring
2007 as a bigger pilot and they were
incredibly successful.
The Next Ceremony
The next ceremony will be held
in London at Kensington Town
Hall, on 13th February 2009. We
anticipate that the following ceremony will be taking place
in late April 2009 in London. The venue and date for this
will be confirmed shortly. Anyone eligible to attend in February
will be sent an email at the point at which the
booking process becomes active. If however you have become a
member in the last 12 months (by completing the
MRCGP, nMRCGP or MAP) and
would like further information please contact Laura
Summers on 020 7344 3051 or at lsummers@rcgp.org.uk
