Wessex Faculty

Welcome from Wessex Faculty

We support over 2200 members, Fellows, Associates and Associates in Training in Hampshire, The Isle of Wight, Dorset, Wiltshire and the Channel Islands. The Faculty runs an extensive educational programme for GPs at all stages of their career, the trainee element is in collaboration with the Wessex Deanery. To support the MRCGP training programme we offer a series of CSA preparation DVDs and case cards to assist trainees in developing their consultation skills (please contact us if you would like further details on this). In addition to our education programme, the Faculty hosts a number of excellent social events.

Get involved

We hold four board meetings a year. This is a place to discuss local issues, ongoing projects, and hear feedback from our Council rep as to what is being discussed nationally. Our next board meeting will be held on Wednesday the 20 June 2018. Please get in touch if you would like to observe; we are keen to encourage members at all stages of their careers to be involved!

Upcoming events

We run a range of events throughout the year. One of our main events is our George Swift Lecture. This year, the lecture is being presented by Dr Sarah Wollaston MP.

Getting Involved

We rely on members to play an active role locally promoting the College aims and objectives. Members are welcome to attend meetings of the Faculty board as observers and are encouraged to stand for election to the board at the Annual General Meeting held each year in November. If you would like to find out more about becoming involved with the faculty we would be delighted to hear from you.

Please contact the faculty office by phone or email if you would like to attend a board meeting as an observer.
