North Scotland Faculty

Welcome from North Scotland Faculty

A warm welcome from North Scotland Faculty. We provide local networking, education and support. The Faculty covers a large geographical footprint that includes Highland and the Western Isles, supporting 440 RCGP members and their peers. As a Faculty that spans rural and urban areas, we have a particular interest in our members having access to CPD and professional development opportunities. We organise a range of education events locally, providing healthcare staff with resources is tailored to local needs. We also have bursaries and awards to help our members engage with the college and to recognise innovation and development.

Get involved

We meet four times per year to progress our local engagement activities and discuss issues pertinent to our members, which are then fed back to the College Council. Our next meetings will take place on: Thursday 7 June 2018 (at Fairways House), Thursday 6 September 2018 and Thursday 8 November 2018. All local members are very welcome to attend Board meetings and participate in these discussions – we are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us develop our local engagement programme.

Upcoming events

We run many education courses and social/networking events throughout the year. Many of these contribute to CPD and professional development.

New GPs in Scotland

An innovative website has been launched for Scotland's GPs. The website is intended to provide support for recently qualified GPs in Scotland but is free for anyone to use. The website brings together appropriate information from a host of relevant organisations including RCGP. A combination of innovative technology and a team of volunteer editors means that material is regularly updated and relevant to GPs, including sections with local content, events, jobs and clinical tools. The website can be viewed at newgpscotland.com.
