We regularly run events for our members and non members
We support over 2040 members, Fellows, Associates and Associates in Training in the Yorkshire area.
Each faculty is represented by a Faculty Board, made up of a number of dedicated GPs and lay representatives who work voluntarily towards the College's vision, purpose and priority goals.
10 core roles for faculties (approved by Council November 2013)
We rely on members to play an active role locally, promoting the College aims and objectives. It is essential to raise and maintain awareness of demographic issues and needs of GPs and patients alike, and develop initiatives to support these.
If you would like to find out more about becoming involved with the faculty we would be delighted to hear from you.
The last faculty board meeting was held on 10 November 2016. Our next meeting is due to be arranged. All Yorkshire members are welcome so if you wish to attend please email the faculty office.
The meetings will be held at the Cedar Court Hotel, Leeds Bradford. If you want to discuss any item covered or would like an item to be considered at a future meeting, please contact the Faculty office.
We work with outside stakeholders to organise a range of social, educational and networking events, including the Academic Unit of Primary Care in Leeds.
Details of forthcoming Yorkshire Faculty meetings, social events and educational courses can be accessed via the Upcoming Events box on the right.
We are keen to support the educational and training needs of our AiTs and regularly arrange social and educational events within Yorkshire to help our AiTs network with their peers.
We support our GP members within their First 5 years following CCT. We have First5 representatives on our faculty board who are keen to support First5 colleagues and organise initiatives to bring them together. They can be contacted via the faculty office.
The Faculty actively encourages its members of 5 years plus standing to consider putting themselves forward for Fellowship. We have a Fellowship lead within the faculty who can offer advice and support. Please contact us if you would like to discuss this further.

Membership by Assessment of Performance MAP
We have a dedicated advisor within the Faculty, Dr Shelagh Bullimore, who will deal with any queries you may have about this route to membership. We run regular workshops which have proved to be extremely helpful for candidates going through the process. Please contact us for more information.

White Rose Initiative
In addition to the services we provide to members locally, we have joined with Humber and the Ridings and Sheffield faculties to consider an education programme that meets the needs of members across our County.
More details of the White Rose joint initiative, and the upcoming White Rose events can be found here.
We have recently appointed a new Educational Lead for the White Rose Region to develop the educational activities of the three faculties - Yorkshire, Humber and the Ridings and Sheffield. Her name is Dr Margaret Ikpoh and she commenced with us in June 2015. We look forward to her input into developing the educational programme of all three of the Yorkshire faculties.
RCGP Annual Conference Awards 2016
Every year RCGP Yorkshire faculty offers sponsorship by competitive entry for one of our local AiTs and one First 5 to attend the RCGP Annual Primary Care Conference. This year's conference is taking place in our region in Harrogate 6 to 8 October 2016.
The winners of this year's competition are Dr Emma Goldstein and Dr Jennifer Walsh. They will report back on their experiences after the event.
