The Faculty supports over 1500 Members, Fellows, Associates and Associates in Training in Southern Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and most of Nottinghamshire.
We are proud to support the Nottingham University Medical School General Practice Society (GPSoc.). GPSoc. is devoted to helping students discover more about one of the broadest and most rewarding specialties in medicine. The society aims to promote General Practice as a specialty to all medical students and provide thorough career advice. With events ranging from career talks to communication workshops including celebrity guest speakers, GPSoc. was devised to help medical students have a real idea of what a career in General Practice entails. For further information, please visit their website or email GPSoc.
We rely on members to play an active role locally, promoting the College aims and objectives. It is essential to raise and maintain awareness of demographic issues and needs of GPs and patients alike, and develop initiatives to support these.
If you would like to find out more about becoming involved with the faculty we would be delighted to hear from you.
The Faculty's last AGM was held on Wednesday 15 April 2015 and next Annual General Meeting will be held on 26 May 2016. The Guest Speaker will be Professor Maureen Baker, RCGP Chair.
All RCGP Vale of Trent Faculty Members are invited to attend board meetings. The next Faculty Board Meetings for Members will take place on 15 June 2016. If you want to discuss any item covered or would like an item to be considered at a future meeting, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
The Faculty Board welcomes new ideas for events which will be considered during planning for the next Faculty year. Please email email@example.com

The Faculty has over 100 Fellows and is keen to award more fellowships to recognise the efforts of our members.
We want fellowship to reward both ‘grassroots’ members who concentrate on providing excellent patient care in their practices, and members who have made significant contributions in other areas for example, in education, service development and research.
Fellowship nominations for consideration by the Faculty Fellowship Committee are welcome. For further information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
