Member support

Each year, the RCGP delivers over 500 courses and events, in-person and online, across various clinical, wellbeing and developmental themes to support members’ CPD.

The College produces a variety of award-winning online courses and certifications to support CPD and revalidation. Each course goes through a peer-review process.

The RCGP learning needs assessment tool is perfect for those preparing for the MRCGP, AKT, and annual appraisals.

Exclusive to RCGP members: the EKU programme provides regular learning in a range of formats, including our popular Hot Topics. Subject areas are determined by GPs.

The RCGP curates a diverse selection of podcasts covering clinical and professional topics. Listen on-the-go to opinion leaders, peers, in-depth discussions, first-hand experiences and more.

The College publishes world-leading primary care research and clinical guidance. Members have free access to BJGP, InnovAiT, and other resources.

In partnership with specialist organisations, the RCGP provides free topic-specific libraries. These bring together relevant e-resources, guidelines, and accredited courses.

The eLibrary offers access to a wealth of full-text content to all major general practice e-journals and e-books. It is updated eight times daily and is free for members to access.

Practice programmes and support

The College offers a range of programmes that concentrate on the development of educational resources, tools and guidance to support practices to deliver better, sustainable patient care.

The College is one of five delivery partners for NHS England’s GPIP, providing a hands-on package of support to practices.

The RCGP provide practical operational support to practices as they navigate a friend's and colleague's sudden passing. NHS England funds this support.

PCI partners with over 40 Royal Colleges and professional healthcare associations; it is the NHS-commissioned home of personalised care education for health and care professionals.

There are five different key areas of safeguarding knowledge and capabilities on which the RCGP safeguarding standards are built.

In partnership with Marie Curie, the College provides a free, evidence-based framework to help practices self-assess and consistently offer the best end-of-life care for patients.

In partnership with NHS England, the College offers free access to professional training, information and guidance to aid practices in delivering the best patient care for veterans.

The College brings together a national network of Active Practices who are making positive changes in their surgeries or network to boost staff and patient wellbeing.

The parkrun practice scheme allows practice teams to lead by example by encouraging and educating patients to increase physical activity and reduce sedentary behaviour.

The College has developed a suite of resources to aid practices in identifying gambling harms, the barriers to seeking help, how to encourage conversations and where to signpost for support.

Developed by UKHSA, RCGP and ASPIC, this is the central resource to help primary care healthcare professionals and commissioning organisations improve antibiotic prescribing.
