Guidance and competences for GPs with Extended Roles in dermatology and skin surgery

Important notice - 1 July 2020

Having successfully accredited nearly 100 GPwERs through the dermatology accreditation trial, the RCGP is working with dermatology partner organisations to identify a model of accreditation that is effective, scalable and affordable. While we are in discussions we will not be accepting new applications.  We will update these pages with news about our GPwER programme at the earliest opportunity.

The guidance and competences for GPs with Extended Roles (GPwERs) for Dermatology and Skin Surgery includes the curriculum and core competences required to be accredited as a GPwER in Dermatology and Skin Surgery.

This guidance has been revised and updated by the British Association of Dermatologists, the Primary Care Dermatology Society and the Royal College of General Practitioners.
