Inspiring the Future Awards

The Inspiring the Future Awards are a celebration of exemplary student & FY engagement work undertaken by medical students, foundation doctors and members of the RCGP. The awards will be presented at the Inspire Awards taking place as part of the RCGP Annual Conference 2019. Find out more information about the awards and see last year's winners.

RCGP-SAPC Annual elective prize
Deadline: end of May each year
An annual prize of £500 is awarded for the best proposal by a medical student for an elective based in Primary Care/General Practice. The proposal might be to submit a relevant ‘think piece’, research, improvement, innovation, invention, evaluation or audit.

RCGP Scotland Student Creativity Award
Deadline: January each year
Medical students and FY doctors are invited to demonstrate what the essence of general practice means to them, in a creative way. This can be through music, art, video, vlog, poetry and so much more.

RCGP Annual Conference Poster Competition and Student & Foundation Doctor Poster Prize
Deadline: TBC
The RCGP Primary Care Conference & Exhibition showcases up to 300 posters and papers from researchers and innovators, keen to present their work to the 1,500 GPs, academics and other health care professionals attending the event. There are prizes in a number of categories, as well as a dedicated Student & Foundation Doctor Poster Prize.

RCGPAC travel bursary for students and foundation doctors

The Student & FY Travel Bursary is here to support students and foundation doctors who wish to participate in RCGPAC where cost of travel is a barrier.
Discover GP Poster Competitions
Deadline: February - March each year
Medical students & foundation doctors may apply to display their research as part of the scientific poster competitions that take place at Discover GP Conferences every year. Applications open in December to conferences taking place across the UK, please check back here for more information.
