I passed an examination more than six months after my last day in training:
If you were given permission by the Chief Examiner (or a nominated deputy) to sit the AKT or the CSA more than six months after your last day in training, you may apply for a CEGPR (AP). When you make your application to the GMC you will need to attach the Chief Examiner’s letter giving you permission to sit the AKT or the CSA at a later date.
If you passed an examination more than six months after your last day in training, and there were no mitigating circumstances which prevented you from sitting during the first six months, you will not be eligible to apply for a CEGPR (AP). You will need to make an application through the standard CEGPR route.
I passed an examination outside training. At my final ARCP Panel it was recommended that I should add to my eportfolio and make other improvements, as well as pass the AKT/CSA:
You are not eligible to apply for a CEGPR (AP). In order to be eligible, your final ARCP form must show that all other aspects of the training are complete with all Workplace Based Assessment competences rated ‘Competent for Licensing’ or above on your final Educational Supervisor review and with no outstanding actions other than to pass the AKT or the CSA. You will need to make an application through the standard CEGPR route.
I trained when the examination regulations allowed unlimited attempts at the AKT and the CSA. I have now passed an examination outside training after more than four attempts:
If you sat the AKT or the CSA after you left your training programme, having obtained the express permission of both the RCGP and your deanery or HEE local office to do so, and you satisfy the CEGPR (AP) application criteria published on the GMC website, you are eligible to apply for a CEGPR (AP).
I completed my training more than 12 months ago but I have now passed my examinations:
An application for a CEGPR (AP) must be made within twelve months of leaving your general practice training programme. If your final day in training was over a year ago, you will need to make an application through the standard CEGPR route.
I completed the three year training programme for general practice but wasn’t able to pass all my examinations. I won’t have another opportunity to sit the examinations:
You are not eligible to apply for CEGPR (AP). You are eligible to make an application through the standard CEGPR route. We advise reading all the available guidance before deciding whether or not to submit an application.
