South West Thames Blog

Professor Simon De Lusignan, RCCP South West Thames Faculty ChairWelcome to the South West Thames Faculty's blog where you can read all our latest news.

I write as your Chair to thank all of you who already contribute, and to invite new members to get involved in our Faculty.

My goals for my term as Chair is to promote a sense of community among our members, support resilience at challenging times, and promote science (particularly involvement in research and harnessing technology). The first two of my themes fit well with the "Caritas" part of our College motto (literally – love of humankind), and the third theme fits with "Scientia" in our motto (scienta translates to knowledge as well as science).

I look forward to an interesting series of meetings through the year. We recently held with a meeting on robotics which was a chance to examine a phantom wearing a sensor glove and getting feedback as to whether you have the warmest hands, the gentlest touch, and are most diagnostically accurate.
