About the PMA
The PMA originally developed a series of non-clinical workshops for the RCGP. The first workshops had a strong business focus providing GPs with the commercial insight required for modern NHS practices. The PMA is now a UK-wide membership body delivering training, education and interaction opportunities to the wider NHS workforce. Working closely with many organisations, the PMA provides continuous support to NHS England, NHS Digital, NHSx, HEE, RCGP and others.
The PMA has invested heavily in training specifically tailored to primary care. Adopting a nimble approach, all content is current, relevant and easily accessible. PMA offerings are extensive and tailored to the needs of the sector. As well as e-learning programmes, PMA offer apprenticeship and workshop options to facilitate succession planning and practice staff development.
Apprenticeship standards
The PMA have seen clear evidence of the benefits apprenticeships can make to practices in terms of efficiency, team working and motivation. Government funding makes this an extremely affordable option for practices.
