Primary Care Federation – putting patients first was launched at the end of June 2008. The publication explores the concept of general practices and primary care teams working together, sharing responsibility for developing high quality, patient focused services for their local communities.
It demonstrates in practical terms how GP practices can work together in Primary Care Federations and how the model can be adapted to suit particular geographical circumstances and patient populations, providing real life examples of how GPs and primary health care teams are already making federations work in practice.
The document has been widely promoted through the press, College website, bulletins to members and through a wide ranging consultation launched in August.
