parkrun practice

The collaboration between a GP practice and a parkrun event must be consensual, and it is important that any interested GP practices speak to their local parkrun event team and get their agreement prior to registering. parkrun events are delivered by volunteers, and their involvement in the initiative is entirely optional.

Display parkrun flyers/posters in waiting rooms
Display information about parkrun on television screens
Deliver a presentation on parkrun to staff and/or patients, with the support of local parkrun event teams where possible
Share parkrun flyers with patients and staff (electronically or hard copy)
Include a parkrun page on the practice website, or a link to the parkrun website
Mention parkrun in practice communications, for example newsletters and through social media
Co-facilitate local PHE Physical Activity Champions’ teaching sessions
Practice staff encouraged to register for parkrun and give it a go
Practice staff encourage patients and carers to take part in parkrun
Undertake a volunteer takeover at a parkrun (this is when the practice staff/patients undertake the volunteer roles at a parkrun event)
Share inspirational stories with parkrun HQ and RCGP
