Severn International Meeting 6 June 2019

Our next Severn International Meeting will be held on Thursday 6 June 2019 from 7pm at the Main Lecture Theatre in UBHT Learning & Education Centre, Upper Maudlin Street, Bristol BS2 8AE. This networking evening will include inspiring talks on Healthcare for refugees and those seeking asylum.

Severn Faculty RCGP Gala Dinner 2019

This annual evening event will take place at the Aztec Hotel & Spa in Bristol and will include a welcome drink followed by a two course buffet dinner with drinks and an inspiring Gale Lecture entitled "Adolescents’ health in vulnerable populations" from guest speaker, Dr Marian Davis, a GP from Herefordshire, Chair of RCGP Adolescent Health Group and RCGP Member of Advisory Council AYPH.

Exploring the management of addictions in general practice

RCGP Severn Faculty and the Priory are hosting an educational evening exploring the management of addictions in general practice. The evening will explore mental health issues around addiction specifically relevant to GPs and their patients, including quality care and treatment around the challenges of substance misuse and the support to give patients to achieve recovery.

Severn GP Trainee QI Awards and Graduation Celebration 2019

This annual celebration which will take place at Bath Racecourse and is for all Severn Deanery GPST3/4s to mark successful completion of GP training with colleagues and supervisors and to celebrate the start of their GP careers. Our guest speaker this year will be announced shortly. The afternoon will be followed by an early evening celebratory BBQ. Educational and Clinical Supervisors, APDs, TPDs, Deanery and University colleagues are also warmly welcomed. All attendees are required book their place at this free event. Please ensure you include your role and ST status if applicable during the booking process.

2 Day Minor Surgery Course 7 & 8 November 2019

This course will enable you to develop the skills required to run a successful minor surgery service in primary care. Topics covered include minor skin procedures, joint injections and non-surgical techniques as well as advice about how to set up a service and the medico-legal and contractual obligations required of those practicing minor surgery.
