Mindfulness and Medical Errors

During this session Dr Khan will deliver a workshop on a topic that is relevant for all medical professionals: 'Mindfulness and medical errors' He will aim to explore such questions as: Why do physicians make errors? What are our typical responses to these? Is there a more skillful response? If so, is this a skill that we can learn? What is mindfulness and what role does this play in our responses? He will look at ways in which our responses can impact our own wellbeing as well as that of our patients and even affect our personal lives. The session will consist of a 'didactic' component, small group exercises and plenty of discussion!
