Help us improve patient care

04 May 2018

We now have the lowest number of GPs working in Wales for a decade. Yet the few GPs Wales does have are finding it hard to spend time treating patients, because of the prohibitive cost of medical insurance.

We’ve been calling on the Government to take action and support GPs so that they can focus on what matters most – providing patient care.

Indemnity is the insurance and legal protection that allows GPs to treat patients. Unlike hospital doctors, GPs pay for it themselves, but its excessive cost and inflexibility reduces the time they can spend with patients.

We need the Welsh Government to provide a fairer solution for Welsh GPs.

Help us improve patient care by writing to your AM. All you need to do is click here, fill out your name and postcode and then we’ll send our template letter onto your AMs. It will only take you a couple of minutes.

There is strength in numbers. In England, the Government listened to the concerns of GPs and has promised that the expensive cost of indemnity will be provided by the state.
With your help, we’ll make sure that Welsh GPs and their patients are not left behind.

Take action – tell your AM to support patient care.
