Steve McCabe

The next 3 years will see a dramatic transformation of general practice and primary care in Scotland. It seems that the traditional model of delivery which has served us well for the last 70 years is about to be consigned to the history books.

General practice already feels a vulnerable place to be and for many GPs and many practices it feels like a tipping point has already come and gone. It is essential that we have strong RCGP Scottish Council at this time to both influence and police the proposed changes.

I have many years' experience of medical politics in Scotland and have only ever sought to defend the rights and interests of coal face GPs.
