We're going to Manchester Pride

We are excited to announce that for the RCGP has been selected to have an official presence at Manchester Pride festival. Planning for this is in its early stages, but we have been given 50 wristbands for members and patients to be part of the float. The theme of this year's parade is: "Garden of Freedom". We will have props available, but please feel free to dress as you wish! Register now if you would like to take part in the Manchester walking float and join us at Manchester pride!

Are you going to Annual Conference?

It's from 14 - 15 October in Liverpool and it promises to be a great event! The RCGP Annual Conference is the must attend event of the year for GPs and practice team colleagues, showcasing the latest clinical and policy developments across the UK and bringing together an impressive range of national and international speakers.

Is you practice Veteran Friendly accredited?

There are around 2.4 million armed forces veterans in Britain which makes asking the question “Have you ever served in the military?” critical to improving healthcare for our veteran population. Our Faculty is proud to support this project and we'd like to signpost you the Veteran Friendly GP Practice page for more info. Also why not join a Veteran's Project webinar on 19 July by Dr Veronica Grant FRCGP who is Royal College of General Practitioners Clinical Champion for Veterans' Health. This webinar will help you gain insight into the veteran community including some of the common physical, mental and psychosocial problems affecting veterans amongst other useful information.

RCGP North Collaboration Twitter Account

As you may be aware, we are now working collaboratively within various career communities across the North of England. As a result, we've got a new joint Twitter account with the 7 Northern Faculties - NW England, Mersey, Cumbria, South Yorkshire North Trent, Yorkshire, Humber & The Ridings and North East England. Why not follow us for joint ventures!?

Upcoming events

We've got more Unconscious Bias webinars and follow on/linked events from our BAME group, healthy cooking evening and more physical events from our PALP group and a potential First 5 monthly meet up! You can find out more about all our regional events here. This includes events from North West England and our new collaborative events with the other 7 Northern faculties.

Please feel free to email us if you have any questions or event suggestions and we look forward to meeting you at future events whether that be online or in person.
