GPs in the North East have been pivotal to the vaccination programme

27 April 2021

Welcome to our latest post from North East England Faculty blog.

As the weather warms up and lockdown eases, I am sure we all have a sense of light at the end of this very long tunnel. The last year has been unprecedented and the biggest challenge our NHS has faced. GPs have been crucial in supporting those with COVID and those suffering the consequences of COVID including mental health problems, financial issues and the challenges associated with loneliness and isolation.

GPs and their teams have been pivotal in the highly successful vaccination programme. Many of you have been working incredibly hard during weekends and evenings to administer vaccines, in addition to your busy clinical jobs during the week. Thank you, on behalf of all of us at RCGP North East for all of your efforts.

We are working in collaboration with other Northern Faculties to improve our Member offering and using technology to deliver our resources and enable collaborative working, one of the real positive consequences of the pandemic!

We’ve had some great events in recent months, including a Christmas quiz, a dance fitness session and Dr Ayede’s hour. We’re looking forward to a mindful painting session, a creative writing workshop and a Sri Lankan cooking session organised by our Northern AiT committee.

Please have a look at our events page for more information and booking details.

Please do get in touch if you have any suggestions for events you would like to see our faculty offer.
