A place to learn, celebrate and champion our members, staff and patients who are in the Black, Asian, and Ethnic Minority community
"The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members." – Coretta Scott King
As a college and a collective we have and will always commit to seeking out and changing inequalities that exist both within our organisation and in the general practice community. Within the college we are creating an action plan to address core issues.
We have an amazing BAME community and from this a core group were galvanised to take action following the President’s listening exercises during 2018/19. The core group of 20 GP's has been meeting during the first six months of 2020 to establish a comprehensive list of short, medium and long-term goals which will guide RCGP's determined efforts to tackle racial inequality in every aspect of general practice. To join the BAME forum and get involved in the work join the conversation or check us out on Instagram or Twitter.
Watch our members talk about their experiences with racism and how they’re hopeful things will change for the better from now on.
