Time commitment

Commitment is ad-hoc via email communication and attendance at the following meetings:

  • Quarterly meetings of RCGP Scotland Executive Board
  • Work with RCGP Scotland Projects and Initiatives Team to develop and implement professional development opportunities
  • Ad-hoc meetings with internal and external stakeholders to progress initiatives, and any other meetings deemed necessary by RCGP Scottish Council
  • Standing invitation as an Observer to the quarterly meetings of RCGP Scottish Council


The RCGP Scotland administrative team will be based in Edinburgh. The post holder may be required to travel to other areas in Scotland. Additional contact will be required via email.


RCGP sessional rate – £216 per session for 2018/19.

Role description

RCGP Scotland would like to hear from College members with a desire to provide leadership and clinical support to RCGP Scotland's professional development offering. This would include developing and implementing a CPD Strategy for RCGP Scotland, which delivers a range of professional development to GPs and the primary care sector.

The role of Executive Officer (Professional Development) is now vacant. Applications are now invited for this role, which has a three year term of office.
