Information and Library

Library stock includes a unique reference collection of MD and PhD Theses from General Practice, an international selection of primary care journals, and a loan collection of College publications. The Library Catalogue contains material that traces the evolution of General Practice and Primary Care within the National Health Service, and contains many articles, reports and books by Members of the College. Members may request articles and loans from stock using the Library Catalogue.

There is a separate catalogue of historic books dated 1668 to 1952.  Information on how to access this material and other Heritage collections can be found on the History, Heritage & Archives pages.

Users may also be interested to browse the Knowledge Database on Health in Secure Environments. This database has been designed to support doctors and other health workers to deliver quality primary care in prisons and others secure environments. The database provides guidance previously available from a variety of sources into a single searchable resource, which will be of use to people delivering health care to patients in prisons and other secure settings. The information deals with clinical topics from the particular perspective of doctors and nurses who care for people who are confined.
