First Edition of RCGP Scottish magazine Rocket later known as Hoolet.

Dec 1991 Scottish Council in conjuntion with Cancer Relief MacMillan Fund and Clinical Resource, and the Audit Group of the Scottish Office appoint Dr David Millar and David Carroll to run Scottish Palliative Care Facilitators Project.

Scottish Council Working party report on Reassessment and Reaccreditation.

Maya Kelly appointed Education Facilitator to the College in Scotland.

Centre for Primary Care Research and Epidemiology based at Aberdeen University  (formally Manchester Research Unit) renamed RCGP Primary Care Databases for Primary Care Epidemiology at the University of Aberdeen.

June 2002

First Lawson Lecture (East Scotland Faculty) named after former College President J A R Lawson.

2003

Publication of revalidation folder for GP's working in Scotland.

2005

Alastair Short Travelling Fellowship - £40,000 was donated and it was decided to have a annual Fellowship of £5,000 over a period of 10 years. The Fellowship was open to GP Registrars, Public Health Trainees and young doctors in their first 5 years in these specialties.

Oct 2007 RCGP Scotland and the Ukraine Association of Family Medicine sign memorandum of understanding establishing travelling fellowships:  a doctor exchange between the two countries.
Jan 2008 Start of Living Better Project which aimed to improve the mental wellbeing of those with long term conditions. It provided up to date information on the latest policy, research and practice relating to Coronary Heart Disease, Diabetes and Mental Health. It was a  joint project of RCGP Scotland, in partnership with the Scottish Development Centre for Mental Health and the University of Stirling. Other partners in the project include Diabetes UK Scotland, British Heart Foundation (Scotland), Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland, and Depression Alliance Scotland. The project was funded by the Scottish Government.
22 Feb 2008  GP Tools Launch in Scotland as part of the Essence of General Practice Project including prompt cards to encourage and evoke original thinking amongst GPs and nPEP (new Phased Evaluation Programme).
28 Feb 2008 Medical Practice and the Care Home - we can do better! Workshop developed by by RCGP Scotland, British Geriatrics Society Scotland and RCPS Glasgow. Speakers included: Dr Brian Williams, Dr Willie Primrose, Prof Marion MacMurdo, Dr Jean Hannah, Mrs Anne Naylor, Prof Marie Fallon, Dr Gillian MacLean, Dr Ken Lawton. Workshops inc: End of Life Care, Adults with Incapacity Behaviour Management, Chronic Disease Management/Medicine Review/Prescribing.
April 2008 Pilot mQPA [Modular Quality Practice Award] started in Scotland.
Jan 2009 RCGP Scotland  visited by Dr. Oleg Kashtelyan as part of The Ukrainian Travelling Fellowship.
Feb-Mar 2009 Alcohol Screening and Brief Interventions in Primary Care courses took place in Aberdeen, Edinburg and Glasgow.
March 2009 P3 (Scottish Patient Group) Workshop “Making the Connections”.
5 March 2009  RCGP Scotland position statement on Sustainable Development.
April 2009 QPA [Quality Practice Award) moved back to Scotland and version 12 of the regulations launched with criteria spread over six domains presented as six modules.
June 2009 Academic general practice in Scotlandsecuring the future report by the Scottish Academic Forum
5 Dec 2009 Celebrating the best of general practice in Scotland awards evening with inaugural GP of the year and practice team of the year
