Resources for Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Online Learning Environment
Our Online Learning Environment (OLE) hosts a range of high-quality education resources to help you meet your CPD and Revalidation requirements. You can find specific courses with the courses and events search, or access the OLE direct.
The award-winning e-GP programme hosts over 220 e-learning sessions on a wide range of topics across the GP curriculum as well as relevant e-learning from other projects, including: adolescent health, child safeguarding, work and health, medical leadership.
Essential Knowledge Updates and Challenges
Our Essential Knowledge Updates (EKUs) are a series of six-monthly, focussed updates on selected items of new and changing knowledge central to your every day practice.
Six months after each update, the Essential Knowledge Challenge (EKC) is released. These are online assessments that test your understanding of the preceding update.
All challenges and updates are hosted on the OLE. You can find them via the courses and events search, or by logging into the OLE direct.
We want the EKU programme to be an enjoyable and effective method of consolidating and assessing your learning, and an easy way to identify and fill learning gaps in U.K. general practice.
Further information about EKU and EKC for you and your colleagues can be found through an online leaflet, and from regular RCGP CPD e-mail communications, or, by contacting the EKU team at: email@example.com
Personal Education Planning (PEP) programme
Our Personal Education Planning (PEP) programme consists of self-assessment tools which will help you identify and summarise your learning needs and provide evidence for CPD and Revalidation.
PEP tools are available on the OLE.
Planning and recording your CPD
Our CPD credits scheme provides guidance on how to record your CPD for appraisal and Revalidation, and how that can determine what your learning objectives are.
