Why do we need a new building?

Princes Gate, although much loved by many, was no longer fit for purpose.  We now have over 44,000 members and its capacity had long since been outgrown and many College functions were spread across London .  Bringing together all London based operations, including the CSA centre, in national headquarters makes the College more efficient, accessible and cost-effective.

30 Euston Square will be a focal point general practice and our work to promote the highest standards in education, training, research and clinical standards in general practice in the UK and overseas.

The building will offer world-class facilities for GP education, facilitate our work with key stakeholders to shape the future of health care and be a home from home for all members when in London.

Why Euston Square?

Following extensive fact-finding, analysis and cost-benefit assessments during which locations such as Birmingham or a dual-city split were considered it became clear that London is the most accessible and cost-effective location.  The College was fortunate to be able to purchase the freehold of 30 Euston Square as there are not many buildings of  the necessary size and meeting the College’s requirements for accessibility and location.

When will the building open?

Building work is scheduled for completion in late summer 2012.

When can I start making a reservation?

Early reservation has been available to members since December 2011.  For an overview of event facilities and to make enquiries, please visit http://www.30eustonsquare.com/home

What if I'm not London based?

30 Euston Square will be your home from home when in London. There will be comfortable accommodation, a members' lounge, knowledge resource centre and state-of-the-art meeting rooms to cater for all your needs and any functions you may wish to hold.

How many study bedrooms will there be?

There will be 41 fully fitted and en-suite study bedrooms, including disabled access, available at very competitive rates. This is a four-fold increase on the number available at Princes Gate.

What about HS2?

Where will the CSA centre be?

Our new building will bring together all our London based operations, including exams, courses, seminars and conferences.  The new examination centre will be over two floors and will have three circuits of 14 rooms each, briefing room and support space.
