The RCGP International Travel Scholarship and Eric Gambrill Memorial Awards
Applications are now open for the RCGP International Travel Scholarships and three Eric Gambrill Memorial funded awards.
These awards offer GPs and family doctors the opportunity to undertake projects or study outside of their home country, experience family medicine overseas to enhance their effectiveness, develop knowledge of best practice and make a difference at home and abroad.
The Eric Gambrill Memorial Fund was established in memory of Dr Eric Gambrill FRCGP, a keen traveller who was active in the development of general practice training in Kuwait and also supported family medicine in Australia, Canada, South Africa and the USA.
These awards can be used for:
- International exchange or study to increase the quality of education and delivery of general practice or family medicine
- Overseas travel from the UK to study aspects of health care relevant to general practice in the UK
- Overseas doctors to visit the UK to study an aspect of primary care relevant to their own country’s family medicine needs
- General practitioners from the UK to travel overseas and help other countries develop their primary health care systems
Any practising General Practitioner may apply for the awards and scholarships (members or non-members of the RCGP, residents of the UK and international GPs at any career stage).
