Teaching of Trainers

Excellence in General Practice courses introduce participants to advanced education theory and build up skills in teaching, assessment and feedback. In addition to the taught modules, participants complete assignments between modules, supported by RCGP tutors.
Courses are normally delivered as a series of three or four modules over 18 months, each module lasting one week. The programme can be modified to suit different levels of trainer expertise.
Consultancy on curriculum and assessment development
We offer advice and support in developing academically robust curricula, courses and assessment methods.
Exam accreditation MRCGP[INT]
Our MRCGP[INT] framework provides accreditation to postgraduate examinations outside the UK. It is designed to ensure that locally available assessments have the same academic rigor as our MRCGP examination in the UK. It also gives successful candidates the right to apply for our International Membership.
We work with national family medicine organisations and examination boards to set up a joint development team of local examiners and trainers and RCGP advisors. This team reviews and develops all aspects of the curriculum, training and assessment.
Once an exam is ready for accreditation, it is thoroughly scrutinised by our Examination Development Assessors. When accreditation is achieved, standards are constantly monitored through quality assurance arrangements.
