Faculties are organised into administrative regions to enable the sharing of best practice and the exchange of ideas at a regional level.
Cross regional collaborations operate, either through a formal arrangement or through local networking. The three faculties in the Yorkshire region have established a formal collaboration under the title of White Rose.
The three faculties in the Yorkshire Region are Humberside, Sheffield and Yorkshire. Access details of their local news and initiatives through their individual web pages.
Each faculty is represented by a Faculty Board, made up of a number of dedicated GPs and lay representatives who work voluntarily towards the College’s vision, purpose and priority goals.
10 Core Roles for Faculties (approved by Council November 2013)
Recognising that certain local GP and patient needs are mirrored across the whole of the county has led to the formation of the White Rose joint initiative between the three faculties of Yorkshire (Humberside, Sheffield and Yorkshire). As well as providing services to their local areas, the faculties have joined together to combine skills and expertise to develop an educational programme to suit regional needs. Each faculty contributes to the decision making process and have appointed a joint GP Education Lead to take the initiative forward.
Details of forthcoming White Rose meetings and educational courses can be accessed via the courses and events box on the right. For more details, please contact the Events Administrator.
Further details are contained in our White Rose events flyer [PDF]
The regional office supports the faculties, by providing input into project development, acting as a link between faculties and supporting opportunities to deliver services effectively across the region.
