We support over 460 members, Fellows, Associates and Associates in Training in the Humber and the Ridings area which covers the North and East Riding of Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire. Our region has recently been extended to include the Vale of York.
Partly as a result of our changing boundary we have updated our name to Humber and the Ridings.
We rely on members to play an active role locally, promoting the College aims and objectives. It is essential to raise and maintain awareness of demographic issues and needs of GPs and patients alike, and develop initiatives to support these. If you would like to find out more about becoming involved with the faculty we would be delighted to hear from you.
The Annual General Meeting will be held on 13 September 2016 at the Village Hotel, Hull HU4 7DY. Refreshments will be available from 19:00, the AGM will commence at 19:30 and the faculty board meeting will start at 20:00.
The next faculty board meeting will be held on Tuesday, 14 June 2016 at the Village Hotel, Hull.
All members are invited to attend board meetings and the AGM. If you would like to discuss any item covered or would like an item to be considered at a future meeting, please contact us.
The Faculty aims to provide educational meetings throughout the year for RCGP members and other health professionals within the Humber and the Ridings area.
If you are interested in providing input to the education programme either as an experienced speaker/trainer or as a GP with a suggestion for a useful training course, we would be pleased to hear from you.
Details of forthcoming Humber and the Ridings Faculty meetings, social events and educational courses can be accessed via the Upcoming Events box on the right.
The Faculty actively encourages its members of five years plus standing to consider putting themselves or colleagues forward for Fellowship. The Provost, Dr Peter Davis, leads the Faculty Fellowship Committee and can offer advice and support. Please contact the faculty administrator for further information.
Doctors who received Fellowship during 2015 included: Paul Longden, Phil Mixer, Paul Heath and Tim Maycock.
We host an annual dinner each year which is combined with an awards ceremony. The Humber and the Ridings Faculty Annual Dinner is to be held on Tuesday, 22 November 2016 - at the Rowley Manor Country Hotel, Little Weighton, Nr Hull, HU20 3XR. The guest speaker is to be announced shortly.
