North East England Faculty

Welcome from North East England Faculty

Welcome to North East England Faculty. We are a group of volunteer GPs and allied health professionals working in primary care that aim to provide education and support to members locally. We cover North East England from the Scottish border to Teesside and East to the Cumbrian border. We support around 1900 RCGP members and offer a huge range of CPD opportunities.

Get involved

Our Faculty Board meet four times per year, in February, June, September and November at the Marriott in Gateshead, where we discuss local activities and issues of importance to our members. Our Council representative then feeds back to the College Council on matters concerning RCGP membership and wider general practice policy. All local members are very welcome to attend Board meetings and participate in these discussions – we are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us develop our local engagement programme. Our next meeting will be held at 19:00 on 17 September 2018.

Upcoming events

We run a huge range of education courses and social/networking events throughout the year. If you have any ideas or suggestions or would like to become more involved in your faculty please get in touch.

This years event surpassed expectations with an amazing line up of key note speakers and fantastic local initiatives being showcased in the afternoon breakout session. The atmosphere and enthusiasm for general practice was catching!  With positivity running high a date has already been set for GP Reimagined 2019, we wanted to provide you with plenty of time to save the date - 16 May 2019.

We aim to have a fantastic day, spreading positivity and sharing innovation. The whole primary care team is of course invited and we are delighted to be able to give discounted rates for nurses and practice managers. Online booking will open early 2019.

This is a great opportunity to get 6 CPD points, to network, to find out about local and national innovation in primary care and to renew you enthusiasm for general practice.
