Dr Susanna Hill. Tamar FacultyWelcome to the Tamar Faculty's blog where you can read all our latest news.

The Faculty has had a busy start to 2018, launching our CPD meetings held in Torbay. The next one will be Plymouth on 18 April, followed by meetings in Exeter and Truro. These popular and well attended meetings are run monthly. Please look at our events page for the next meeting dates.

We also shared our views on e-consultations and it was clear some members were in favour of technology and others raised valid concerns over online consultations. We will contribute our views to the College paper which will inform the Council's strategic direction.

Our next big event will be our awards night on 30 November where we will present our GP of the Year Award and our GP Practice awards. Thank you to all those who have nominated and congratulations to all of the finalists. We will let you know the winners in our next blog.

All members are being reminded about our Bursary awards. Applications close this Friday and eligibility is open to all Faculty members. Find out more at xxx.

One of our Faculty members, Denise Bailey, has won a Bright Ideas Award for her work on social prescribing. She has implemented a new model to signpost GPs to support services which is having a big impact in her community. Read more at xx.

Something else I wish to alert you all to - the College recently issued guidance for GP practices, courtesy of Dr Matt Hoghton, Medical Director of the College's Clinical Innovation and Research Centre, and Dr Manpreet Pujara from our Health Informatics Group. I hope you found this useful. If you need a copy of the guidance, please contact the Faculty Office for further information.

Just a reminder if you're not already following us on social media, please go on our Facebook and Twitter pages and like and share our posts.
