Welcome to the first issue of your Faculty blog, bringing you the latest news and developments from our Faculty.

The Faculty has had a busy 2018, we have launched new CPD meetings in Torbay which take place once a month at Mount Stuart Hospital, details of these are on our events page of the website as our details of the Plymouth, Exeter and Truro monthly meetings, which continue to run and are well attended, you can now get a free hot supper at the Exeter meeting – they are delicious! If you are new to the area I recommend you come along to one of these meetings as they are a great way to meet Colleagues and even here about job vacancies!

We are really looking forward to this years' McConaghey Lecture and are very excited that Professor Helen Stokes-Lampard, RCGP Chair will be coming down to see us in Plymouth and giving the lecture on Thursday 6 September 2018.

We have taken on a great deal of collaborative work with Peninsula Deanery and in addition to the AKT course which we have run for the last two years we will also be running the CSA revision course and some resilience workshops throughout the year, keep an eye on our website and social media feeds to keep up to date with those!

Just a reminder if you're not already following us on social media, please go on our Facebook and Twitter pages and like and share our posts.

We have some great events lined up for the remainder of the year including a half day Menopause workshop in Truro, a Biliary diseases study day and MDDUS risk training day both in Exeter so pop along to our events page and have a look and hopefully we will see you at an event soon.

With best wishes

Alice Sefton
