Welcome to the South East Thames Faculty's blog where you can read about all our latest news.

The Faculty is hosting two free social events in the next few weeks. First is the 2018 annual faculty walk which will take place on Sunday 12 August and comprises a four mile circular walk starting at Linton village car park (south of Maidstone at ME17 4AW). It will take place in the Boughton Monchelsea area before returning to Linton village.

Those attending are asked to gather by 10.30am for a 10.45am start. Lunch afterwards is expected to be in the nearby Linton village Bull public house. Lunch will be funded by the Faculty for Faculty members and their guests are asked to register online

The second event is the 2018 Annual lecture and social which will take place on Thursday 27 September from 6.30pm at the Hadlow Manor Hotel, Hadlow, near Tonbridge, Kent TN11 0JH. The guest speaker is RCGP Chair of Council, Professor Helen Stokes-Lampard who will speak on topical issues of the day. The event is the faculty's main social for the year, with plenty of time to socialise over a sit down hot buffet before the lecture. It is a free event for members and their guests but booking is required for catering purposes.

Upcoming educational events for local members will cover Patient Data Choices and Infant Allergies. The first  - Patient Data Choices - is a free half day event in Brighton organised in conjunction with RCGP's Clinical Innovation and Research Centre (CIRC), taking place on Tuesday 18 September. The other event is on Wednesday 10 October at St Thomas' Hospital, London, organised in conjunction with the Allergy Academy and covering Infant Allergies. The fee is set at a nominal £10.
